"Thanks to the skills, confidence, and project portfolio I built during my studies, I received a Positive Skills Assessment as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson from Engineers Australia."
The RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design teaches you to prepare detailed designs of civil steel and concrete structures, manage design processes, and produce drafting-office-standard drawings. Whether you're on the tools today, in a site role, or starting fresh — it's your pathway into the drafting office, without giving up your income while you get there.
No prior drafting experience is required. A short pre-training review during enrolment confirms this course is the right fit for you.
Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent — or an AQF Certificate III or higher qualification. Mature-age applicants with relevant work experience are also considered.
You must be 18 years or older at course commencement.
A short LLN assessment is completed during enrolment to make sure you're set up to succeed.
A Windows laptop or PC capable of running AutoCAD and Revit (Revit runs on Windows only), reliable internet, and a webcam for live MS Teams classes.
A Unique Student Identifier and 100 points of ID — we'll help you arrange a USI if you don't have one.
Leading projects and a team of 4–5, mentoring junior drafters, and owning delivery.
Technical support to design engineers and project managers, building detailed models.
Precise technical drawings and plans for civil and structural projects.
Preparing design documents inside a drafting or engineering office.
Your project portfolio from this course supports the CDR report that assessment requires.
Every unit you complete is nationally recognised and recorded against your Unique Student Identifier (USI) — so if you continue studying anywhere in Australia, you won't be required to complete those units again.
RII60520 is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework, delivered by Pegasus International College (RTO 46222) and listed on training.gov.au.
Already work in civil construction, drafting or engineering? Your skills and experience can be formally assessed against course units — shortening your study time.
Completed matching units with another RTO? They transfer — you won't repeat what you've already done.
Flexible payment plans spread your tuition across your study period — and a scholarship assessment can change these numbers significantly.
Assessed on your previous study and work experience.
